"Huswifery"

In the poem “Huswifery” Edward Taylor expresses his prayer for God’s grace through the use of extended metaphor, repetition and diction.

Reflection:
The poem “Huswifery” is a prayer of a man looking for grace from God. Taylor uses the metaphor of a spinning wheel to explain the process of him asking God for his grace. He tells us how devoted he is to being God’s servant, to use him as the Lord wills. He explains his transformation by comparing it to turning fuzzy wool into magnificent robes.

I find it interesting how me and you received the same meaning from this poem. I think you did a good job in explaing what you got from it too.
